Securing water supply for drought-stricken region

A project identified in a Water Supply Resources Plan written in 2010 is one of several strategies for meeting central Texas water demand through 2100.

Project: A 13-billion-gallon reservoir off the main channel of the Colorado River will reduce the need to release water from the region’s main reservoirs upstream, which provide water for more than 1 million people, businesses, and farms.

Contract includes: Reservoir and pump station design, intake, and associated conveyance upgrade, assessment and rehabilitation of a low-head dam downstream.
Contract value: $250 million
