Water-ballasted traffic control system

Centered around a ballastable energy disbursement cell, the Yodock Traffic Control System can be accessorized to meet a variety of traffic control needs. It can be used as a barrier wall, Type III barricade, longitudinal channelizer, and as temporary sign support. The portable system is lightweight with stackable units, making it easy to install and inexpensive to transport. The Yodock Wall Co. Inc. www.yodock.com.

Reflective sign sheeting

Manufactured to exceed the Federal Highway Administration's new minimum sign reflectivity standards, Nikkalite high-performance reflective sheeting products are highly visible at night and durable in any climate. The sheeting can be used to fabricate traffic signs, barricades, delineation devices, security signs, fleet marking, and decals. Conspicuity tape and pre-striped barricade tape is also available. Nippon Carbide Industries Co. Inc. www.nikkalite.com.

Moveable barrier for work zones

The Moveable Vulcan Barrier is portable and meets NCHRP 350 TL-3 and EN-1317 H2 & N2. Designed for easy repositioning as work zones change, the steel longitudinal barrier allows crews to open and close lanes in less than 20 minutes (per mile of barrier). It is moved with a transfer attachment that works with skid steers, front-end loaders, and other work zone equipment. Quixote Corp. www.quixotecorp.com.

Trailer attenuator protects against collisions

The Scorpion trailer attenuator's modular design crushes in progressive stages upon vehicular impact, allowing quick and economical replacement of damaged parts. Two heavy-duty, anti-rotation arms are driven against the vehicle's frame plate to minimize trailer rotation during angled impacts and prevent trailer separation from the host vehicle. The trailer installs to a standard pintle hook with ease, and an optional arrow or message board can be attached. TrafFix Devices Inc. www.traffixdevices.com.

Off-the-grid anaerobic digestion system

Compared to standard and egg digester technologies, Momentous Flow mixing technology for anaerobic digestion in the wastewater industry offers lower operating and maintenance costs and efficient generation of reusable energy from methane capture. The system uses a single Z/T = 3.0 axial impeller and no baffles in the upper part of the vessel to create centrifugal force. That force pushes membrane methane bubbles from anaerobic digestion to the center of rotation, where they quickly coalesce and escape from the liquid into a collection cap. The methane is then harnessed to power digestion operations, reducing or eliminating the need to power the equipment from the grid. Philadelphia Mixing Solutions. www.philamixers.com.

Hammer drill

The TE 70 hammer drill can be used in various applications, including drilling in concrete, stone, and masonry with TE-YX bits, drilling holes for rebar dowels and anchor bolts, through-hole drilling and coring for mechanical and electrical, and chiseling and demolition of concrete and masonry. It offers the best power-to-weight ratio in its class and features an optimized mechanical clutch to provide maximum torque. Hilti. www.us.hilti.com.

Exit signage

Incorporating vandal-resistant hardware, the Tuff-Act exit sign can withstand a wet/damp environment and comes standard with Intelli-Charge self-testing diagnostics that meet NFPA 101 and IBC periodic testing requirements. High-brightness LEDs provide illumination. A sealed NiCad battery designed to last 10 years provides 120 minutes of emergency power. The company also offers emergency and solid-state lighting, and invites industry professionals to use its Web site as a resource for help selecting and applying energy-efficient luminaires. Portable light tower

The Wanco Light Tower's high-efficiency light fixtures provide a uniform light pattern; specially designed to increase filament life, they keep light on the job longer. Each of the four lights can be aimed independently, without tools. The tower features Teflon spacer bushings for smooth, stable operation. The telescoping mast extends to 30 feet, can be manually or electronically raised, and rotates nearly 360 degrees. Gull-wing doors and a hinged top panel provide easy access to the diesel engine, generator, and electrical components. Wanco Inc. www.wanco.com.

Aeration system increases t transfer efficiency

The company's aeration system combines coarse- a and fine-bubble aeration components to improve m mixing and oxygen transfer while preventing b backflow and clogging. The custom-engineered s system uses the TFA coarse bubble diffuser to provide rapid mixing while the Tubeflex Fine Bubble Air Diffuser provides the fine-bubble supplement. This combination increases transfer efficiency due to the entrainment in higher velocity loops created by the TFA. The Fine B Bubble and Coarse Bubble Air Diffusers incorporate patented technology to prevent backflow and clogging of the diffusers. The combined system reduces energy use and lowers total airflow requirements. Tideflex Technologies. www.tideflex.com.

High-efficiency sand media filter

The 36-3 high-flow, high-efficiency sand media filter is designed for all types of general filtration applications in which sediment removal is the primary goal. The unit filters up to 425 gpm while operating at pressures up to 100 psi. Features include 12 V (selfcontained) or 110 V operation, manual or fully automated backwash, and minimal space requirement because of its horizontal space-saving design. It may be used as a stand-alone filtration system for dewatering and can clean water prior to offsite discharge as well. Rain for Rent. www.rainforrent.com.
