IRVING, TX (March 7, 2013) – Adapting to the way technology has changed how engineers, contractors and other industry professionals exchange information, the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) today announced the release of a new mobile-device app version of its industry-standard installation manual.

The ACPA Concrete Pipe and Box Culvert Installation Manual, previously available on the ACPA’s web site and in print form, has now been published on Apple iTunes, Google Play and Google Books. The publication can be downloaded onto smartphones, notebooks and laptop devices operating on Apple and Android systems via the following links:

The publication can also be found on Apple iBooks and Google Play from compatible mobile devices.

“With this convenient new app, contractors and specifiers in the field can have a handy reference tool in their pocket with all the information they need to address installation issues concerning concrete pipe and culverts,” said Kim Spahn, Director of Engineering Services for the ACPA. “It’s equally valuable for our members to use when meeting with contractors, DOT engineers and others that have questions regarding the installation of our products.”

The ACPA Concrete Pipe and Box Culvert Installation Manual covers a comprehensive list of topics organized in sections covering pre-construction, site preparation and installation, along with ASTM and AASHTO specifications.

“The installation manual has always been one of the most important technical publications in our industry,” said Vince Bussio, ACPA Chairman of the Board, and President of Geneva Pipe Company. “The ACPA’s team, led by Kim Spahn, has been working hard for months to convert the manual into an app format, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product.”
