Half/full lane road milling machine

The Terex PR950B milling machine features a quieter C27 Tier II diesel engine and enhanced cooling system. Developing 947 hp at 1800 rpm, it makes up to 15-in.-deep plunge cuts with its standard 86-in. half-lane cutter. Three other cutter widths are available: 103 in., 135 in., and full-lane 150 in. Unlike previous designs that required the machine engine to run when changing teeth, the 20-cfm air compressor is powered by its own 10-hp diesel engine. Terex Roadbuilding. www.terex.com.

Rolling packer lifts entire drum

Equipped with 15-19.5 six-ply tires on a hydraulically actuated lift, this rolling packer allows the operator to pack surfaces - and then lift the entire 60x93-in. drum off the ground for greater ease of turning, moving, and loading for transport. Operators working on both sides of a road can simply raise the packer and move from one shoulder to the other without damaging pavement. Icon Industries Inc., a Landoll Co. www.iconindinc.com.

Creates perfect grades

Ideal for subgrading and blacktop prep, the EDGE Grader Blade and Laser System for skid-steer loaders has a reversible, replaceable cutting edge with optional end plate kit. An in-cab control box with proportional current valve allows control of oil movement to the cylinder for smooth adjustments. The transmitter features ±10% X axis grade range, ±25% Y axis, and high accuracy up to 3000 ft. in diameter. CEAttachments Inc. www.ceattachments.com.

Planer attachments for pavement repairs, milling

The company's planer attachments - with cutting widths ranging from 14 to 40 in. - for its skidsteer, all-wheel steer, and compact track loaders are ideal for milling potholes, alligator cracks, and other defects; matching uneven pavement surfaces; cutting drainage in parking lots; making street repairs; and cleaning up around larger milling machines. The 14-, 18-, and 24-in. planers feature flush wall planing capability, replaceable ski wear pads, and standard rear frame wheels. The 40-in. planer is shown above. Bobcat Co. www.bobcat.com.

Produce paved surfaces with smooth seams

Pavement contractors can accurately pave complex designs without a reference surface or stringline using the PCS900 Paving Control System. The operator just loads design data into the automatic 3D control system, and the machine automatically keeps the screed on design. The system is an extension of the 2D PCS400 so can be easily switched from 2D to 3D mode. It can be installed on top of the MOBA-Matic CAN paving control system.
