This is a two-part presentation.

Part one: Fabrication

From the development of shop drawings to delivery of the panels to the job site. Topics that will be discussed include scheduling, batching equipment, testing, shop drawings, National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) plant certification, forms, casting beds for non-planar panels,slot formers, mild steel reinforcing, prestressing, pre- and post-pour checks; casting (including consolidation and finishing), curing, storage, and shipping.

Part two: Installation

Work room at the job site; work windows; marking out/surveying; saw cutting and removal of existing pavement; excavation equipment; undercutting, if necessary; field-installed dowels; sawing top slots; placement equipment; methods for grade control (of the slabs); installation of bedding material; working with existing and new stabilized bases; installing dowel grout material; and sawing and sealing of joints. Also, issues related to installation over existing cement-treated base, existing permeable base and new stabilized base (lean concrete base, rapid-setting).

PDH Credits
The American Concrete Pavement Association awards 2 professional development hours (PDHs) to those wishing to complete an optional “evidence of learning exam” following the webinar. Check with your local licensing authorities to determine the acceptance of this course before registering.
