The National Steering Committee (NSC) of Concrete Industry Management (CIM) held their annual auction in conjunction with World of Concrete. The auction raised $925,000 for the program which awards students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Management.
The items auctioned this year included cement, concrete straws, safety equipment, screeds, generators, training sessions and sports travel packages. A silent auction was also held.
The signature item at the event was a Mack Granite® Axle Forward model mounted with a McNeilus 11-cubic-yard Bridgemaster® concrete transit mixer, donated by Mack Trucks, Inc. and McNeilius Co. a Division of Oshkosh Truck. Another stand out item was a restored 1951 vintage Ford Ready Mix truck donated by by Dean Leaman of Allied Concrete Materials.
CIM Auction Committee Chairman Mike Philipps commented on the auction's record breaking total, “This Auction is a great example of the high value the concrete industry places on the CIM program. We had a record in terms of the value of donated items and attendees at the Auction that helped make this year’s event a tremendous success."
