Making recycling pay

When a driver sees a load that includes textiles like bedding and pillows, hoses, scrap metal, opaque bags, yard waste, electronics, hazardous waste, and food, he taps a button on the app and Mobile311 creates a data point, using GPS, within Mobile311. Once contamination is identified and recorded, Mobile311 automatically generates a work order that can be e-mailed to multiple addresses of the user’s choosing.

Greensboro’s recycling trucks have a hopper camera and tablet loaded with FacilityDude’s Mobile311 app. When the driver spots contamination, he taps the tablet to indicate how heavily contaminated the load is. The app creates a data point and generates a work order.
