Thousands are gathering at the Charlotte (N.C.) Convention Center this month for the World of Asphalt Show and Conference, where they're checking out the products and services of more than 300 exhibitors — a new high for the event.

Educational programing includes more than 40 expert-led sessions in targeted tracks to help pavement-minded professionals understand new technologies, learn new skills, and keep on top of safety, regulatory, and operational issues.

The Asphalt Pavement Alliance's Asphalt Pavement Conference features three sessions led by contractors and subject matter experts: Innovations in Paving, Pavement Preservation with Plant Mix, and Keeping Competitive. The sessions' roundtable format provides opportunities for discussion and panel questions.

The event is colocated with the AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo with product-focused exhibit pavilions and a New Products & Technology Program to help attendees quickly find specific exhibitors. Booths incorporate demonstrations and technology and programming includes more than 50 educational seminars.

Attendees also can venture out for a tour of Martin Marietta's Arrowood Quarry.

World of Asphalt and AGG1 are hosted by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers;the National Asphalt Pavement Association;and the National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association.Visit www.worldofasphalt.com and www.agg1.org.
