Support arm for heavy power tools

The Jackhammer Support Arm is a labor-saving device for electric jackhammers and other heavy power tools that supports the weight of the tool, allowing for total concentration on the job at hand. It has three setup options—tripod, scaffold, and shoring pole—each of which takes less than five minutes to assemble. Removable pins hinge each joint, making the device portable. Its universal clamping system allows for the attachment of most hammer drills. BCIT Institute of Technology. 604-434-5734. www.bcit.ca. Booth S21130.

The Makita 70-pound model HM1810 Breaker Hammer is powered by a 15-amp motor, delivering 1100 bpm and 63 joules of impact energy. The tool is equipped with the company's anti-vibration technology, a counterbalance system for three times less vibration. An automatic brush cutout system protects the commutator for longer tool life while a warning lamp indicates trouble with the 16.4-foot power cord. Makita USA Inc. 800-462-5482. www.makita.com. Booth C4037.
