Transportation for America recently released The Fix We're In: The State of Our Nation's Bridges, which reports that 11% (or 69,000) of U.S. highway bridges are structurally deficient. The national coalition of transportation, environmental, and other organizations also incorporated the federal bridge database into an interactive map so users can view all bridges within a 10-mile radius of a specified address (structurally deficient bridges show up as red icons), get details on individual bridges, and compare bridge statistics state by state.
