Interstate curb

The Interstate Grade FG 300 curb system—suitable for use on toll roads, freeway intersection acceleration lanes, and other challenging applications—combines a curb and base unit to create a tough curb section. Designed to work with the company's FG 300 EFX polyurethane post, it offers thick ribs, one-piece construction, and the ability to withstand loads to 10,000 pounds. It can be installed by one person in minutes. The brightly colored product offers a strong visual target. An optional vertical panel measuring either 4x22 inches or 3x39 inches is available. Portable speed bump

The Traffic Guard portable speed bump offers users a temporary solution for traffic conditions, including temporary traffic patterns around work zones, and emergency situations. It eliminates many of the liability and maintenance concerns associated with permanent speed bumps. The soft carry bag and mobile hand-truck models offer long-lasting construction and readily replaceable parts. The most commonly used model is compact—approximately the size of a spare tire—and can easily be stacked and stored in a truck. Astro Optics Corp. www.astroopics.com.

Solar-powered signs

BlinkerSigns are high-visibility, solar-powered traffic signs, featuring super-bright flashing light-emitting diodes. They alert drivers farther in advance to work zones—up to 2 miles away—to prevent accidents. Because they are powered by a battery and solar panel, they can be installed anywhere, with no concerns of power outage and no hardwiring required. Users can activate the signals via pushbutton, handheld computers, or the company's wireless controller. Because the signs can be installed on any kind of post, they are suitable for temporary or permanent installation. TAPCO Inc. www.tapconet.com.

Portable plastic barrier

The Roadguard/2 is a portable Jersey-style barrier made of blow-molded, high-density polyethylene plastic, making it durable and easy to handle. The double-chambered barrier measures 6 feet long, 42 inches high, 2 feet wide at the bottom, and 10 inches wide at the top. When filled with water, the barrier weighs 1600 pounds. Features include a self-locking ramp, pin, and hole system; two handgrips at each end; and built-in slots and channels for signs, fencing, and flashers. Radar speed display

The RU2 Fast 750 radar speed display trailer has a 12-inch light-emitting diode that is 7 feet tall when raised into operating position. It is raised and lowered with an electric actuator, making setup easy. The trailer is simple to tow and place into position, making it ideal for work zones, neighborhood streets, and other areas in which speeding is a recurring problem. The sign runs five to eight days before requiring a recharge. Options include a data acquisition package, solar panel, alarm system, and trailer cover. RU2 Systems Inc. www.ru2systems.com.
