This annual American Public Works Association conference—held in Peoria, Ill., April 30–May 3—offers public works crews like the team in Old Orchard Beach a range of tools help them improve their efforts to fight winter weather.
“I have been attending this Snow Conference for the past 10 years,” said Jerry Picket, streets superintendent for the city of Greeley, Colo. “The main reason I continue to attend is due to the quality of information, new technology, equipment, and the opportunity to network with my peers.”
For the first time in the program's history, heavy equipment will be on display in at the conference exhibition. Other highlights include Wednesday morning technical tours, educational sessions (organized into tracks), roundtable discussions, and social events.
