Our 2014 AEC survey showed an increase in public infrastructure planning as cities, counties, and states finally began emerging from the Great Recession.

However, initial results of this year’s survey indicate that many are still too short-handed to spare employees who hold PE and other specialized licenses for anything other than managing the consultants who design, engineer, and/or build public projects.

If you’re one of the 63 people who completed the questionnaire we sent on Monday, thank you. Feel free to ignore the rest of this note and the questionnaire if you receive it again on Friday.

If you’re not, though, we’re a little nervous. We like to have at least 200 responses before we start analyzing the results.

So if you didn’t get the survey, please take it now by clicking https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/pw2015aec. Or hang on until the bitter end and do it Friday morning.

Either way, thank you as always for your help.

P.S. If you’ve visited www.pwmag.com recently, you may feel like you’ve got surveys flying at you from all over the place. I apologize for that and want to let you know that the “We Need Your Opinion” is different from the survey I’m writing about here. Ah, planning!
