Meet Denis Hayes, national coordinator of the first Earth Day, at the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) annual conference and exhibition — ACE10 — which will be held June 20 – 24 in Chicago.
Although he will be the opening general session speaker, Hayes won't be the only must-see at this year's event. Fourteen in-depth, interactive workshops are designed to enhance the conference experience by allowing operators to thoroughly examine all the relevant issues.
The conference also includes a professional program with more than 100 sessions comprising more than 550 presentations that represent the work and knowledge of at least 1,000 water experts. Many sessions address questions of sustainability, although the sessions are diverse enough to be relevant to all operators.
For example, among the 17 professional program tracks is a special topics track that encompasses water supply topics — two of which directly address concerns relevant to the Midwest.
Since small systems make up the greatest percentage of water systems in North America, the Small Systems Division of AWWA will bring attendees all the latest insight to help them keep their water quality on par with larger systems.
