The Roswell Department of Transportation recently became the third agency in Georgia (109th overall) to receive accreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA). According to Roswell , this accreditation recognizes the agencies that go above and beyond the nationally established requirements for public works management practices.
The process of gaining accreditation takes two years and finished with the APWA sending a team of public works professionals to evaluate their operations during a multi-day visit.
RDOT is responsible for all facets of transportation and traffic in the city. Roswell Mayor Jere Wood spoke highly of the department and their contributions to the city:
“Roswell has grown to be one of the largest and most desirable cities in Georgia, and for us to attract the best businesses, jobs, and people, we must continue to reassess our transportation infrastructure to make innovative, safe, sustainable, and cost-effective improvements. This accreditation just further underscores the fact that we are in great hands.”
