Just a week after a new International House of Pancakes opened up in Meridian, Miss. it was swallowed up by a sinkhole. No was hurt during the incident, however it expanded to about half of the size of a football field. Vehicles were submerged in mud and fell 30 feet below ground. 

Despite what it looks like though, technically the incident wasn’t a sinkhole as the hole wasn’t caused by erosion. 

No one was injured because the establishment was closed for the evening, but recovering the cars will take longer than usual due to persistent rain -- which officials think may have caused the sinkhole to form.
