The American Public Works Association (APWA) PWX 2016 will heavily feature sustainability in Public Works, with over 50 education session about Environment/Sustainability issues. The annual conference will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN from August 27-31, 2016.
Sustainability in Public Works was chosen as a track because it permeates nearly every function of public works in our everyday lives. The session from this track will teach attendees the efficient delivery of infrastructure projects in an environmentally and socially responsible way that ensures the best economic choice in the long term:
“The Sustainability in Public Works Track at the PWX 2016 conference provides more opportunities for public works professionals to learn about and discuss important sustainability issues and solutions, in reflection of the fact that sustainability is interwoven into all areas of public works -- water, roads, transportation, parks, asset management, and emergency management. These sessions, roundtables and activities are presented by a variety of APWA seasoned professionals to reveal the breadth of the role that sustainability plays in our infrastructure,” said APWA C4S Chair, Kim Lundgren, CEO of Kim Lundgren Associates, Inc.
