Recently, a winter storm dumped 10 inches of snow on Davenport, IA and in response the city implemented a new effort to tackle residential streets before downtown area. Eric Longlett, street maintenance engineer for the city, was pleased with the amount of gratitude public works received for cleaning the city so efficiently.

Brian Wellner, Quad-City times, reports on how they went about cleaning the city:

Longlett said an army of dozens of drivers working 12-hour shifts and operating 60 pieces of equipment, including small and large plows, brine trucks and motor graders, had cleared 1,600 miles of lanes within 12 hours after the snow stopped.
