Government Fleet Magazine named Hillsborough County in Florida as the top operation in North America. The county's fleet management department, which maintains 3,800 vehicles or motor equipment including hybrid vehicles and vehicles that can run on Ethanol-85, has received an overall customer satisfaction rating of 97% for the past three years.

Architects and developers working in the home city of such companies as Microsoft and Nintendo will soon be able to collaborate online with government departments on engineering and construction plan sets and documents. Redmond, Wash., is using Avolve Software Corp.'s ProjectDox ePlan for electronic plan submissions to improve customer service, environmental conservation, and neighborhood safety.
