In a recent APWA survey, only 21% of responding agencies had a succession plan, 43% were developing one, and 36% had neither succession policies or was working on them.   • The mission of the APWA Student Outreach Network is to educate students about public works, inspire them to get involved, and transform the future. The goal of the network is to connect APWA members with students to help them form APWA student chapters at their schools.
  • The nonprofit Public Sector Consortium offers learning programs and educational publications designed for leadership development. The consortium also conducts a monthly forum via conference call for participants to share their experiences on issues of public leadership.
