In March I offered to post help wanted announcements to the Public Works magazine website, Linked In group, and weekly e-newsletter. All for free. The response was immediate. I’ve heard from small townships to large cities looking for an assistant public works director, zoning administrator, environmental manager, engineering technician, and transportation supervisor.

If you sent a description, I’d be interested to see what kind of response you received. E-mail

The flood’s slowed to a trickle since then. So if your department’s got a need to fill, e-mail me:

  • The job description
  • A link to the job description on your city’s website
  • Contact information of the person to whom applications should be sent
  • Application deadline
  • Anything neat or different about your community that will make readers think, Hey, that sounds like a great place!

If you’re not looking for new talent right now, fear not. We’re always looking for innovative projects and teams to highlight as Department of the Month. You can e-mail me those nominations as well.

Happy spring and work safe!
