Every April National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is held to bring attention to motorist and worker safety issues. The theme for this year is “"Work Zone Safety: We're All In This Together.” The theme highlights the complexities of work zones, especially in urban areas, and the need for awareness and planning on the part of everyone affected by work zones-- DOTs, road workers, drivers, bicyclists, motorcycles, pedestrians, emergency response, law enforcement, and utility workers. The national kickoff event will be held Tuesday, April 16 in Washington, D.C. To get more information or to find out how you can participate, visit The U.S. Department of Transportation.
