Details: Service lateral connection lining is a unique and emerging rehabilitation product that is rapidly becoming a commonplace recommendation for removing infiltration from defective service laterals and/or their connections’ to the mainline pipe. However, there are many different products available in the marketplace that must first be evaluated to ensure that the proper product is being recommended. There are a myriad of options one must consider when recommending service lateral connection lining for rehabilitation programs.
Attendees will gain valuable working knowledge on how to make product decisions and ask the important questions when evaluating the feasibility of service lateral connection lining options and deciding what type of service lateral connection liner to recommend for their application.
Finally, there will be a discussion on the recent Infiltration/Inflow Removal Pilot Program conducted by the Metropolitan District Commission (District) in Hartford, CT. This program evaluated lateral lining, lateral replacement, private property separation, mainline rehabilitation and also the removal efficiencies seen. There will also be a discussion of how the findings of this program are being used to shape the future of the District’s SSO Program, for ultimate EPA Consent Decree Compliance.
