Developed by the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) and sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, the courses are offered free of charge to participants in highway and heavy construction.
Public agency employees can earn 4.5 professional development hours (PDHs) upon successful completion of "Best Practices for Constructing Smooth Concrete Pavements" and 3.5 PDHs for "Best Practices for Handling Aggregates for Concrete Paving."
The courses provide illustrated presentations by civil engineers, field interviews with contractors and other experts, videos, photos, and animations that illustrate process steps or actions related to subject matter.
