Across the country, branches of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) are gearing up to celebrate National Engineers Week 2016 (Feb. 21-27). Including ASCE, more than 70 societies are working with the DiscoverE foundation of EWeek Programs with the mainstay events being Globlal Day of the Engineer (Feb. 24) and Girl Day (Feb. 25).

Programs for local sections include the Los Angeles Section’s annual popsicle-bridge competition and the Carnegie Science Center to the Nebraska Section’s EWeek School Blitz:

“EWeek is a time when we communicate to the public what engineers do,” said Nebraska Section President Joseph Flaxbeard, P.E., M.ASCE, a senior project engineer for Lamp, Rynearson and Associates.
