The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) offers a report that lays out the types of construction materials used in the successful building and rehabilitating of bridges, as required by SAFETEA-LU.
The report includes information on both Federal-aid and non-Federal-aid projects. The December 2005 National Bridge Inventory dataset and the FHWA's Financial Management Information System were used to identify material types. Information on preventative maintenance projects also is included in the rehabilitation totals. Visit www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge to download the report.
