Known as the Eisenhower Expressway (Ike) Interstate 290 in Chicago is nothing short of busy. While it is frequented by travelers, the interstate also contains several bridges for people to walk on and provides the access to the city’s many public transportation systems.
The pedestrian bridge provides access for students at the University of Illinois in Chicago, with the city’s transit system. However, the bridge is in need of much repair. Using 52 precast concrete deck panels alone with high performing concrete, the bridge was able to be repaired in less time and with more durability.
